Do we have a center of eternity? Or something else? What do we place in our center… the very core of our being? What is at this heart of hearts that we defend as if our life depends on it? The truth is, when we occupy our own center with our true essence, there is nothing to defend.
If anything inside us has an origin story, then it is not a part of us. It is something we acquired through experience or influence. And we placed it in the center for good reasons… to protect ourselves or someone else, to get our basic survival needs met, because we believed it when someone else told us who we are, and what we are capable of. All of those things have a beginning, and are therefore going to end, so we often feel like we need to protect what we have held in our center, the holiest of holies.
Once we choose ourselves as the primary creative being in our life, and realize the truth of our eternal and infinite nature, we can not live a real life until we displace these mortalities from our core. The primary tools for this process include being good to and forgiving self and others, releasing attachments, being willing to face fear and move through it, and to wield the creative power of transformation on ourselves and recreate our world from the inside out. Ultimately, it comes down to a choice, and it is this one choice that changes everything. We can take a long spiraling road to this choice, or we can dash straight into the heart of the matter. Once we arrive at this moment, there is only one thing to do. Destroy the false self that we had once protected, and replace it with the truth…
